SUMMARY:Exploring the Zepto-scale: Physics Beyond the Standard Model at the
  Future Circular Collider
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Victor Maura Breick (King's Coll. London)\\r\\nAbstrac
t: Physics at the TeV-scale\, long heralded as the next step towards a dee
per understanding of nature\, is increasingly constrained by direct search
es at the LHC\, while indirect precision tests of the Standard Model naive
ly rule it out. At the same time\, the discovery of the Higgs boson has op
ened an entirely new avenue for precision exploration. Rather than being d
iscouraged by the absence of new physics where it was once expected to be
ubiquitous\, we can interpret it as a hint towards its underlying structur
 e. By studying the picture that emerges from this process of subtraction\,
a clearer path for future exploration begins to emerge. \\r\\nIn this tal
k\, I will explore the unique opportunities offered by the integrated Futu
re Circular Collider programme in simultaneously addressing both challenge
 s. I will illustrate how global analyses of experimental data within the f
ramework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT)\, complement
ed by a systematic study of linear SM extensions\, can provide a unified p
erspective on the sensitivity of current and future colliders to new physi
cs. Particular emphasis will be placed on the key role of the Tera-Z progr
amme at FCC-ee. Finally\, considering a dark sector coupled through the Hi
ggs portal\, I will explore how a potential discovery at the HL-LHC could
be followed up by the integrated collider programme to disentangle the und
erlying nature of these interactions\, even in this elusive scenario.
