Epitaxial quantum dots are rapidly becoming one of the most promising platforms for the generation of quantum light. Particularly relevant for technology applications, like long distance quantum communication, is the possibility to operate at telecom wavelength. In this seminar, I will discuss recent experiments conducted in Stuttgart employing quantum dots operating at telecom wavelength: from remote all-photonic quantum teleportation, employing quantum frequency conversion, to generation of quantum light directly at telecom wavelength.
