#NCCRWomen campaign: meet six women researchers of NCCR SPIN through their videos

March 8th 2023, International Women’s Day, marked the release of five videos of NCCR SPIN showing off its women researchers in the frame of the NCCR Women campaign.

The #NCCRWomen campaign introduces a broader audience to various woman researchers working everyday in different Swiss National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs). Through these videos and interviews, our female colleagues are showing who they are, what they do and why they do it. The campaign was initiated in 2021 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of women obtaining the right to vote in Switzerland and continues in 2022-2023, all year round.

This year, NCCR SPIN shared its women researchers’ stories on the week of 8-14 March 2023, starting on International Women’s Day. On this occasion, Vera Weibel, Dr. Qian Ding, Dr. Alessia Pally, Lisa Sommer, Paula Sánchez Almagro and Melina Lüthi present their everyday life as a researcher, their research topics and their motivations, to a broader audience. They are working in diverse fields of science from theoretical physics to telecommunication engineering to develop tomorrow’s quantum computers.
