Gen-Q – Generation Quantum: Call for 51 fully funded doctoral positions in quantum science and technology

We are pleased to inform you that the Gen-Q doctoral programme, coordinated by EUCOR – The European Campus, has officially launched its call for applications. The Call for Applicants is open until 31 August 2025.
Gen-Q offers 51 fully funded doctoral positions in quantum science and technology, with a particular emphasis on international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral training. The programme is supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND under the Horizon Europe framework.
Each position is funded for 48 months and leads to a doctoral degree awarded by one of the participating institutions:
- Universität Basel, Switzerland (12 positions)
- Albert Ludwig Universität Freiburg, Germany (2 positions)
- Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, Germany (11 positions)
- Université de Haute-Alsace, France (3 positions)
- Université de Strasbourg, France (14 positions)
- Universiteit van Amsterdam, Netherlands (6 positions)
- Uniwersytet im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu, Poland (3 positions)
The research programme is structured around four thematic areas:
- Noise reduction in quantum devices
- Scaling of qubit and sensor complexity
- Quantum hardware development
- Quantum software and hybrid computing
