Ahmad A. Hujeirat received his Master’s degree from the Technion in Haifa and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Heidelberg University. He subsequently held postdoctoral and research positions at the University of Würzburg, Heidelberg Observatory, the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, the Institute of Applied Mathematics (IAM) at Heidelberg University, the Observatories of Strasbourg and Meudon in Paris, and at QMC, University of London. He later completed habilitations in Physics at the University of Basel and in Astronomy at Heidelberg University. His academic activities have also included research collaborations and visits at several international institutions in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia.
His research spans computational astrophysics, numerical relativity, compact objects, neutron-star physics, accretion phenomena and jet formation around black-hole candidates, pulsar glitches, and the cosmological dynamics of the Universe.
A further branch of his research concerns alternatives to conventional black-hole descriptions. Within this framework, ultra-compact objects composed of supranuclear-density quantum matter are investigated as possible alternatives to classical singular black holes, including applications to supermassive compact objects such as the central object in M87. Related studies address the possible roles of quantum condensates, superfluid matter, and phase transitions under extreme astrophysical conditions.
His recent work also explores the dynamics of subnuclear-density, self-gravitating condensates, turbulent quantum fluids, and their possible relevance to neutron-star glitches, compact-object evolution, and dark-matter phenomenology.
In cosmology, he has investigated questions related to the energy density of the Universe, the physical nature of the Big Bang, and models in which the observable Universe is embedded within a much larger cosmological environment.
